The Opportunity

A biotechnology firm with a high growth outlook planned a multiphase expansion of their life-sciences building and a lease expansion of a neighboring building. Due to space constraints and availability, the building mechanical room could not be expanded to meet the additional equipment footprint required of the project. With multiple air handlers for the supply and exhaust units in both buildings, this posed a challenge to the design team.

   

The Solution

Heat Pipe Technology’s Outdoor SMART Water-Glycol system was selected for this project. HPT’s outdoor cladding option provides a ventilated and temperature-controlled solution which allows for the outdoor placement of our pump skids or other equipment. This option features insulated panels, temperature controls, NEMA 3R and NEMA 4 equipment rating, elegance of design to allow for ease of access for servicing, etc.
